Grade 12 - I joined this team for the experience of learning about how the courts work, preparing a formal argument, and presenting it in a courtroom setting against high school teams from my County and all over New York State.
Grades 10, 11, 12 - I started as a member of the team sophomore year. I really enjoyed it, so I ran for president at the end of the school year and was elected. I still hold that position. What I enjoy most is determining what topics we're going to discuss and moderating the debates.
Grades 9 and 12 - During 9th grade, I was a candid photographer for the yearbook, and they published a number of my photographs. This school year, I photograph events as
a volunteer for the PTA at various schools in the district. Photo by David Goldstein.
April and October 2023 - The first time, I went up to the registration table to check it out. When I saw how many lives can be saved with each donation, I figured it was the right thing to do. I had to quickly contact my dad so he could give me his permission. I was glad I did it, and
I will continue to do so.
November 2022 - I helped a local entrepreneur create a video to help sell her patented product during the holidays. I helped shoot the video, and I was also a model for it. Besides that, she used a still from another video I shot for a "Clip & Sports" segment in her overview video: See it at clipandhang.com
September 2021 and 2022 - Every fall, the Kiwanis Club of Huntington sponsors the installation of a field of American flags on the lawn in front of Town Hall before Patriot Day. The volunteers attach the flags to the poles, and then the poles are installed on the lawn.
November 2018 and 2019 - This popular event at Huntington's Presbyterian Church would raise money for international causes. My family and I volunteered, and I worked set-up and selling at the festival's white elephant sale. Unfortunately, the event stopped once the pandemic hit.
Fall 2018 - I helped kids with challenges learn how to play basketball. I knew about the program through my brother, Greg, who has autism. The photo above shows my brother, uncle, and I playing basketball for fun.
